Immanuel Vancouver is an intentionally diverse church community of people from different social and economic backgrounds, particularly focussed on including people who don't normally associate themselves with church.

We are convinced that we don't need to have it all together to be followers of Jesus, in fact he himself said:

"Healthy people don't need a doctor - sick people do. I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners."

This means that we all have different strengths and weaknesses, but we still have something very special to offer the community.  Whether we are successful in business, struggling to overcome a substance addiction, raising kids, living with mental health problems, young, old.... whatever our situation, we are all equal and valued at Immanuel.

We also believe that no matter what our situation, God offers us the chance to be continually transformed by his love.  So we constantly encourage each other in that process of transformation; nobody is beyond hope or beyond the need to change!  In fact we believe that a diverse community is the best place for change.
